Following the Teesside Business Show last month, the Digital Allies team headed to the home of the Newcastle Falcons at Kingston Park yesterday for the sister event, the North-East Expo.

The Expo is regarded as a true headline act in the North-East business events calendar (think Nirvana and their legendary performance at Reading Festival in 1992). For further proof of the show’s popularity, there were a staggering 1,595 delegates throughout the course of the day, and we were one of 198 lucky exhibitors.

The exhibition spanned across three floors, each jam-packed with a veritable selection of renowned and growing businesses, all ready and willing to share their expertise and showcase their wares. We were lucky enough to make it past the metaphorical velvet rope, and snag a highly-coveted spot on the middle floor’s Gold Level.

The day started with a sausage sandwich and strong coffee for the team, satiating their stomachs with fuel. An ‘essential’ for good performance they insisted!

From the minute the doors were open, each floor of the exhibition heaved with eager business minds. The atmosphere was similar to the Teesside Business Show, however, much busier (like, Boxing Day sales at the Metro Centre, busy).

There were hourly seminars hosted by industry advocates on a range of business topics, which offered small and large businesses alike with a plethora of thought-provoking insights.

“We had a brilliant day the North-East Expo! We had a five-question quiz, which tested individuals on their knowledge of digital marketing. If they took part, they were entered into competition to win a free day’s consultancy. To paraphrase the popular Latin phrase, We made friends, we ate sandwiches and we shouted about how Digital Allies are aiming to make digital marketing more transparent and open to everyone.”
